Mark 2

I have made a full scale version of the chair to test it! Can it be sat on? How thick will it be when folded away, this will dictate the hinge in the base, which in turn will effect the table legs, as they are to open using the hinge in the spine of the base.DSC01360

The chair folded down

Step 1

Having not worked out fixtures for the chair yet I searched out some lage clips to keep it open

It holds weight!!! It can easily and comfortabley be sat on! Yippppppppeeeeeeeeeeeee!  Next step is trying to atach in to the base and and try out the wheel mech in its full scaled up size.

So I am embedding 2inch elastic on the faces of the chair to been attached to the base. This will allow th chair to be laid down flat when the whole ‘book’ is closed and to be lifted when opened.
